Welcome.

A space to feel understood and find a way forward

Dr Michela Devaney | Chartered Counselling Psychologist

Sometimes we find ourselves struggling with difficult emotions, caught in familiar patterns, or feeling disconnected from ourselves and others. We may know that something isn't quite right, without fully understanding why.

Therapy offers an opportunity to slow down, explore what is happening beneath the surface, and begin to make sense of our experiences in a different way.

I offer a warm, thoughtful and collaborative space where you can feel heard, deepen your understanding of yourself, and work towards meaningful change.

How I work

My approach is grounded in Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), which recognises the important role our emotions play in how we understand ourselves, navigate relationships and respond to life's challenges.

Rather than focusing only on managing symptoms or changing behaviours, we work together to explore the feelings and experiences that lie beneath them.

Through this process, therapy can help you develop greater emotional awareness, make sense of longstanding patterns, and find new ways of relating to yourself and others.

At the heart of my work is the belief that meaningful change begins with feeling genuinely understood.

Who I work with

I work with adults experiencing a wide range of emotional and relational difficulties, including anxiety, low self-esteem, self-criticism, relationship challenges, and periods of uncertainty or change.

Some people come to therapy with a particular difficulty they want to address, while others have a more general sense of feeling stuck, overwhelmed or dissatisfied with aspects of their lives.

I also have a particular interest in working with ADHD and Autistic adults, including those who have been identified later in life or are exploring the possibility of being neurodivergent. My approach is neuroaffirmative, recognising and respecting each person's individual way of experiencing the world.

Whatever brings you to therapy, my aim is to offer a space where we can explore your experiences with curiosity, compassion and without judgement.
